LINER NOTES
LANGUAGE
Phobos came out in 1997 on Hypnotic Records; no day is published. Slipdisc issued the American edition in 1998, and Hypnotic and Teichiku the Japanese one on 24 June 1998 as TECW-25715.
It is the second album with Eric Forrest on bass and vocals, and his last. The industrial hardness that arrived with Negatron goes further here: thirteen songs, long and heavy, written darker than the record before.
Rob Sanzo produced and mixed it, James Cavalluzzo also mixed, and Brett Zilahi mastered. Away plays electronics and accordion as well as drums, and drew the sleeve.
Karyn Crisis sings on the tenth song, "Forlorn", and Jason Newsted plays bass and sings on the King Crimson cover "21st Century Schizoid Man" that closes the record; Ivan Doroschuk and Cavalluzzo contribute electronics. The running order here is the thirteen-track one. The 1997 European edition carries bonus tracks and the Japanese edition runs to fourteen.
