Dimension Hatross came out on 29 June 1988 on Noise Records, with Maze Records issuing the Canadian edition as MML 1042.
It is a concept album following Korgull, the mechanised figure that is the band's own emblem, and drummer Away conceived and drew the sleeve. It was recorded in 1987 at Music Lab in West Berlin, a studio near Checkpoint Charlie, and produced by the band with Harris Johns.
The band explain "Hatross" as Snake's pronunciation of the French atroce, meaning terrible or horrible. The LP marks its first half "...Prolog..." and its second "...Epilog...".
The writing that began on Killing Technology arrives fully formed here, and neither the choice of chords nor the shape of the songs resembles any other band. It sold more than seventy thousand copies worldwide, and in 2017 the American magazine Rolling Stone placed it at number 78 in its Top 100 Metal Albums of All Time. The eight tracks listed are the LP's and the cassette's; the CD adds a cover of the Batman Theme, and the player on this page is that nine-track version.
