Live in Dallas 1991

Live in Dallas 1991 documents the concert at the West End Marketplace in Dallas, Texas on 4 December 1991. A two-LP edition appeared on 29 November 2024, the CD followed on Rhino on 28 March 2025, and the Japanese CD came out on Warner Music Japan on 23 April 2025. Eleven songs, about fifty-four minutes. Van Halen spent 1991 touring behind For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge, released that June and the third studio album made with Sammy Hagar singing. The band heard here is that four-piece: Eddie Van Halen, Alex Van Halen, Michael Anthony and Hagar. The set is built on the new record — 'Poundcake', 'Judgement Day', 'Runaround' and 'Top of the World' — with "Why Can't This Be Love" and 'Best of Both Worlds' from 5150, 'Finish What Ya Started' from OU812, and 'Panama' from the Roth years. Two songs Hagar released under his own name, "There's Only One Way to Rock" and "I Can't Drive 55", are played as well, and a cover of Little Feat's 'A Apolitical Blues' takes a slot of its own. What the selection shows is how wide a range of material this version of the band was treating as its own in 1991.
