Balance (Expanded Edition)

Balance (Expanded Edition) marks thirty years of VAN HALEN's tenth studio album, released on 24 January 1995. Bruce Fairbairn produced it, and it was the last album Sammy Hagar sang on and the fourth in a row to reach number one in America. Among Rhino's expanded editions of the Hagar-era albums it followed For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge, issued in 2024. The first CD and the two LPs carry the album in the remaster made for the 2023 box The Collection II. The second CD holds the B-side "Crossing Over", "Humans Being" and "Respect the Wind" from the Twister soundtrack, and eight previously unreleased live recordings from Wembley Stadium in London on 24 June 1995. The Blu-ray has the restored promo videos and an unreleased live clip of "The Seventh Seal" filmed at the Target Center in Minneapolis in July 1995, and a 20-page book completes the set. Rhino released it on 15 August 2025, and Warner Music Japan followed on 27 August with a strictly limited Japanese version of the import, WPZR-31070/4. The two CDs were also issued on their own, and the album on a double LP.
