Liner Notes
The Pleasure Principle is Treat's second album, on which they raised the sophistication of Nordic melodic hard rock, built on bright keyboards and big choruses. Among their early works, it is the most critically acclaimed. Carrying over the momentum of the debut, the quality of the songs and the completeness of the arrangements improved further. During this period the band, while changing drummers, grew steadier in their playing. In 1986 they also opened for Queen in Sweden.
Catchy songs like "Rev It Up," "Waiting Game" and "Eyes on Fire" line up. "Rev It Up" was later covered by the American band Newcity Rockers and became a hit. However, the album was buried under the huge success of Europe's The Final Countdown, released around the same time, and suffered the misfortune of being unfairly compared to them by the media. A hidden gem, where the gap between the work's high quality and its reception is regrettable. Its generous melodies, reminiscent of Journey and Whitesnake, and its soaring choral work stand out. A record representative of their early years, concentrating the appeal of Nordic AOR.
