Dreamhunter is Treat's third album, on which they richly showed the appeal of Nordic melodic hard rock, with impressive choruses and neat guitar work. It is marked by a strongly AOR-flavored style, placing glittering keyboards at the fore. From this album, drummer Jamie Borger joined and became a mainstay of the band thereafter. This record enjoys enduring support from fans as one of the peaks of Swedish AOR, with its lyrical melodies and rich vocal harmonies.
Varied songs like "World of Promises," "Sole Survivor" and "Dancing on the Edge" line up. The single "World of Promises" was featured on MTV, and is also known for later being covered by Sweden's In Flames on their 2000 album Clayman. Behind this record, the band also joined the 1988 Monsters of Rock Tour. An accomplished record representative of their early years. It is also a balanced work, with glittering keyboards to the fore yet plenty of guitar muscle.
