The Mediator Between Head and Hands Must Be the Heart was released on 25 October 2013 in Europe, the 28th in Britain and the 29th in North America, on Nuclear Blast and on Tribus Music in Brazil. Ross Robinson produced it at his home studio in Venice, California — the first Sepultura record he had made since Roots in 1996, seventeen years earlier.
It is also Eloy Casagrande's first album with the band. Derrick Green sings, Andreas Kisser plays guitar, Paulo Jr. plays bass and Casagrande plays drums.
The long title is a line from Fritz Lang's 1927 film Metropolis; Kisser has said he was moved by the sentence at the centre of that story.
It reached number twenty-two on the British rock and metal chart and fifty on the American independent albums chart. Ten songs; the running order here is that of the standard Nuclear Blast pressing, NB 3099-2.
