All for One

The third album, from 1983, co-produced by Michael Wagener and Accept's Udo Dirkschneider — who also sang on a cover of Steppenwolf's "Born To Be Wild" used as a bonus track. The record opens with "Take Control", takes in "Break The Chain", and closes on "Athletic Rock". That closing title is the phrase the band has been described by ever since. Gallagher told Classic Rock that it was not their coinage at all but David Wood's, the man who ran Neat Records, and that the first time Raven saw it was in a Neat advertisement reading "Athletic rock from Neat". Raven's own website and their labels present it the other way round, as the name the band gave their own style. Both accounts are on the record and neither can be dismissed. It was around this album that the band's centre of gravity shifted to America and Megaforce.
