Liner Notes
Reach for the Sky is the fourth album, on which RATT built thick riffs and smooth grooves centered on the guitars of Robbin Crosby and Warren DeMartini. It was made with the lineup of Stephen Pearcy (vocals), the twin guitars, Juan Croucier (bass) and Bobby Blotzer (drums). Keeping the glamour, the songs move with a calmer density.
On "Way Cool Jr." and "I Want a Woman," the urbane hooks and guitar interplay the band excels at shine. Carrying a scent of blues, "Way Cool Jr." became a song representative of this period. Mature playing lives on songs like "City to City" and "Chain Reaction" too. Reviews were divided but it went Platinum — a record that kept the glamorous air of the era while letting you hear the tenacity of the playing.
