Liner Notes
Dancing Undercover is the third album, on which RATT stepped into a somewhat darker, more aggressive direction. With the lineup of Stephen Pearcy (vocals), Warren DeMartini and Robbin Crosby (guitar), Juan Croucier (bass) and Bobby Blotzer (drums), Beau Hill continued to produce. Keeping the glamour, the riffs are harder and a taut tension is added to the playing.
The powerful drive of "Dance" and the groove of "Body Talk" convey the mature band's playing. The edge of the twin guitars shines on songs like "Slip of the Lip" and "Drive Me Crazy" too. It did not reach the commercial success of the previous two albums, but it aired frequently on MTV and kept the band's popularity. A transitional record toward a mature period, with sharpness deepened beneath the glamour.
