In Requiem

In Requiem came out on 21 May 2007 as Paradise Lost's first album for Century Media Records, catalogue 77637-2. Rhys Fulber, who had produced Symbol of Life, produced it, and Mike Fraser mixed it. Jeff Singer, on drums again after the previous album, left the band in August 2008. Marquee, which issued the Japanese edition, describes it in its artist profile as a deliberate turn back towards the band's earlier sound, a record that caught on above all in Europe and became a hit, putting Paradise Lost back at the head of the scene as an icon of gothic metal. The concert they played at KOKO in London on 12 April 2007 was released by Century Media in 2008 as the CD and DVD The Anatomy of Melancholy. The Japanese edition came out on AVALON on 25 July 2007 as MICP-10671, adding "Missing", an Everything But The Girl cover, with "Silent in Heart" and "Sons of Perdition" for fourteen tracks. The track list here is the original eleven, and the player on this page carries the same eleven.
