Sensory Overdrive is Michael Monroe's sixth solo album, released on 16 March 2011, two years after Hanoi Rocks played its last show. It was his first studio record in eight years, since Whatcha Want.
It is also the first studio album by the band he launched at a Los Angeles press conference in January 2010: Sami Yaffa on bass, Ginger and Steve Conte on guitars and Karl Rockfist on drums. Jack Douglas, who has worked with Aerosmith and John Lennon, produced; Petri Majuri mixed.
Two guests appear: Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead on "Debauchery as a Fine Art" and Lucinda Williams on "Gone Baby Gone". "Trick of the Wrist" and "'78" were given official music videos. Classic Rock magazine named the record its Album of the Year for 2011.
