Liner Notes
Relentless Retribution is Death Angel's sixth album, hammering the sharpness and complex developments of Bay Area thrash home with full force. It is the first album with bassist Damien Sisson and drummer Will Carroll, taken on with a new lineup joining Rob Cavestany, Mark Osegueda and Ted Aguilar. Recorded at Audiohammer Studios in Florida under Jason Suecof's production, it returned to a heavier, faster thrash. Suecof has worked with numerous bands, including Trivium.
"Truce" and "River of Rapture," which got videos, are signature songs with sharp riffing and fierce propulsion. From the drive of the opener "Relentless Revolution" to the over-seven-minute "Claws in So Deep" and the closer "Where They Lay," aggressive songs line up. Osegueda's sharp screams and Cavestany's brilliant guitar run throughout. Following the departures of Dennis Pepa and Andy Galeon, this new lineup would continue steadily for a long time. A powerful album carving the momentum of the new lineup.
