Liner Notes
Killing Season is Death Angel's fifth album, combining raw thrash propulsion with lyrical guitar to show a many-sided aggression. Carrying over the previous The Art of Dying's direction while stepping into a more aggressive, direct style than before. Recorded at Dave Grohl's Studio 606 and produced by Nick Raskulinecz, who has worked with the likes of Foo Fighters, Rush and Alice in Chains. It is also the last album to feature founding members Dennis Pepa and Andy Galeon.
The lead single "Sonic Beatdown" and "Dethroned," which got a video, are signature songs combining drive with groove. From the fierce opening of "Lord of Hate" to the closer "Resurrection Machine," incisive songs line up. Mark Osegueda's sharp vocals and Rob Cavestany's guitar drive the whole record. After this, Dennis Pepa and Andy Galeon departed, and the band moved to a new lineup. A powerful album carving the band's fullness.
