Bullet for My Valentine

Bullet for My Valentine is the album the band named after themselves, and the seventh they have made. Where Gravity had leaned into electronic texture and sung hooks, this one drives hard in the opposite direction. Speaking in May 2020, Matt Tuck described what they were writing as very heavy and very technical, with roughly sixty per cent aggressive vocals to forty per cent clean. The ten songs that arrived sound exactly like that description. The singles came out in order — "Knives" on 18 June 2021, "Parasite" on 23 July, "Shatter" on 10 September and "Rainbow Veins" in early October — each with a film on the band's own channel. The album had been announced for 22 October and was moved to 5 November when the pandemic slowed manufacturing. Spinefarm, inside Universal Music, released the Japanese edition on the same 5 November as UICY-16017, adding "Stitches" for eleven tracks. The limited pressing, UICY-79749/50, goes further: a second disc of five songs recorded at Summer Sonic 2018, so a Japanese festival appearance became the thing that only the Japanese edition carries. One note for anyone counting: the player on this page holds the international edition's ten songs. That is why it does not match the Japanese track count, and neither list is wrong.
