Trilogy is the third album on which Yngwie Malmsteen folds his fluent speed playing into a dramatic flow of songs rather than leaving it as mere showcase. Classical harmony, sharp riffs and Mark Boals’ soaring high vocals give each song a clear outline. In the catchy lift of “You Don’t Remember, I’ll Never Forget,” the drive of “Liar” and “Queen in Love,” and the constructive beauty of the epic “Trilogy Suite Op: 5,” the guitar is the lead yet the melody and structure leave a strong impression too.
