Plague-House Puppet Show

『Plague-House Puppet Show』は、2004年11月16日にスパインファームから出た第2作である。編成はデビュー作と変わらない。歌のヘイッキ・ポウヒア、ギターのトンミ・サルタネンとヴィッレ・ヴァッレニウス、ベースのユッシ・カイヌライネン、ドラムのユハ・レスキネン、そして鍵盤のミッコ・ナウッカリネン。 ただし音は動いている。当時の評者は揃って、パワー・メタルの側から80年代のロック/メタルの側へ重心が移ったと書いた。デビュー作が「近年で最良のデビューの一つ」と評された分だけ、この移動は賛否を呼んでいる。翌2005年1月14日には“Into Treason”がシングルとして切られた。そして本作の後、バンドは鍵盤奏者を失う。彼らは後任を探さないという選択をし、それが次の一枚の性格を決めることになる。

Plague-House Puppet Show is the second album, released by Spinefarm on 16 November 2004. The line-up is unchanged from the debut: Heikki Pöyhiä on vocals, Tommi Sartanen and Ville Wallenius on guitars, Jussi Kainulainen on bass, Juha Leskinen on drums, Mikko Naukkarinen on keyboards. The music had moved, though. Reviewers at the time agreed that the weight had shifted off power metal and toward 1980s rock and metal. Because the debut had been called one of the better debuts in years, that shift divided people. "Into Treason" was cut from it as a single on 14 January 2005. And after this record the band lost their keyboard player — they chose not to look for another, and that decision would define the album that followed.
