『XIII』は、TNTが新ヴォーカリストのバオル・バルド・ブルサラを迎え、ロニー・ル・テクロの独特なギターと共に新しいラインナップの輪郭を示した第13作。軽やかなAOR感とハード・ロックのリフが同居し、曲は磨かれたメロディを中心に進む。 “We’re Gonna Make It”“Not Feeling Anything”などでは、新しい声のキャラクターを活かしながら、TNTらしい歌うギターと明るいフックを保っている。変化を大きく見せるより、バンドの基本的な魅力を新編成で丁寧に鳴らした一枚だ。 ここで大切なのは、目立つリフやサビだけでなく、音の重さ、リズムの呼吸、歌の表情が曲順の中でどう変化するかである。各パートは単独で主張するためではなく、次のメロディや感情の高まりを強く聞かせるために置かれている。 音量を上げれば低域の圧力や細かなアタックが見え、繰り返し聴けばアレンジの余白とフレーズの受け渡しが浮かび上がる。作品全体を通して聴くことで、単曲では見えにくい緊張と解放の流れもはっきり感じられる。 こうした細部が、楽曲ごとの個性を保ちながら一枚のまとまりへ結び付けている。強さだけでなく、旋律と音色の陰影まで味わえることが、このアルバムを長く聴き返したくなる理由である。

XIII introduces TNT with new vocalist Baol Bardot Bulsara and shows the outline of a fresh lineup around Ronni Le Tekrø’s distinctive guitar. Light AOR touch and hard-rock riffs coexist, while polished melody stays at the center. “We’re Gonna Make It” and “Not Feeling Anything” use the new voice’s character while retaining the singing guitar and bright hooks associated with TNT. Rather than turning change into a spectacle, the album carefully presents the band’s basic strengths through a new configuration.
