『Animal Attraction』は、RECKLESS LOVEが派手なギター、弾けるビート、すぐに合唱できるサビを詰め込んだ第2作だ。2011年に発表され、本国チャートで10位まで上昇。デビュー作を上回る成績を収め、こちらもゴールドを獲得した。80年代のグラム・メタルを土台にしながら、曲は短く鮮やかで、ポップな感覚をためらわずに前へ出している。デビューからわずか1年での投入で、当時のバンドの勢いをそのまま封じ込めた格好といえるだろう。それでいて、急いで作ったような気配はまるで感じられない。 軽快なムードの中にもリフの押し出しがあり、勢いだけでなくロック・バンドとしての芯もある。“Hot”や表題曲がシングルとなり、バンドの名前を国外にも大きく広げていった。オリ・ハーマンの伸びやかな声は、下世話になりがちな題材を不思議と爽やかに響かせる。彼はH.オリヴァー・ツイステッド名義でCRASHDIETを率いた経験も持つ人物だ。ペペのギターは派手さと的確さを両立し、ヤッレ・ヴェルネとヘッス・マックスのリズム隊が土台をしっかりと支えている。気分を上げたい時に最適な、カラフルで楽しい一枚といえるだろう。

Animal Attraction is the second album, packed with flashy guitar, bursting beats and choruses you can sing along to at once. Released in 2011, it climbed to No. 10 at home — bettering the debut — and also went gold. Built on 1980s glam metal, the songs are short and vivid, pushing a pop sensibility forward without hesitation. Coming just a year after the debut, it seems to seal in the band's momentum of the time — and yet there's no trace of it having been rushed. Inside the light mood there's real push in the riffs; beyond momentum there's a core as a rock band. “Hot” and the title track became singles and spread the band's name well beyond Finland. Olli Herman's expansive voice makes subject matter that could easily turn coarse sound strangely fresh; he had also led Crashdïet as H. Olliver Twisted. Pepe's guitar balances flash with precision, and the rhythm section of Jalle Verne and Hessu Maxx holds the foundation firmly. A colourful, enjoyable record — perfect for when you want lifting.
