Japanese

“Rock'n'Roll Is?” “A Ray Of Light”と“徒花 -ADABANA-”は光と儚さを対照的に描き、終曲“Soaring ~to be continued~”が次の章へ余韻を残す。

English

Seize the Fate captures NEMOPHILA at the moment when strong domestic support was becoming international momentum. It preserves the debut album’s urgency while expanding the scale of the songwriting, the range of tones and the point of view of the lyrics. The title’s determination—to take hold of fate—runs through the entire record. Saki and Hazuki move between low modern riffs and lyrical harmony, while Haraguchi-san and Tamu Murata turn tempo changes and precise breaks into natural propulsion. Mayu also broadens her vocabulary, using harsh screams, rhythmic phrasing and clear high notes according to the emotional needs of each song. The opening title track makes a direct declaration, followed by the heat of “ENTEN” and the concentrated weight of “ZEN.” “Rock'n'Roll Is?” carries a lighter rebellious swing, and “STYLE” combines electronic bounce with cutting guitar work. “A Ray Of Light” and “ADABANA” approach brightness and transience from opposite directions, while “Soaring ~to be continued~” deliberately leaves the door open to the next chapter. Packed with different influences but never unfocused, Seize the Fate became a central record in NEMOPHILA’s rise beyond Japan.
