『OIRAN (Extended Edition)』は、2020年から2021年に自主制作で発表された3枚のシングルをまとめ、英国JPU Recordsから海外向けに届けた初期コンピレーションである。フル・アルバム以前の作品だが、NEMOPHILAの核は既に明確だ。和の語感を持つタイトル、7弦ギターの低い圧力、メタルコアやニューメタルの跳ね、親しみやすい歌メロが一体となり、“地獄のゆるふわバンド”という鮮烈なギャップを音だけでも理解できる。パンデミック期にYouTubeの演奏動画で増えた海外ファンへ、オリジナル曲をまとまった形で示した点でも重要である。 “OIRAN”は妖艶な導入と大きなサビでバンドの象徴となり、“MONSTERS”と“Life”は攻撃性と感情の幅を補う。“RAITEI”の雷鳴のようなリフ、“SORAI”の開放感、“DISSENSION”の反抗的な推進力、“FIGHTER”の前向きな強さが、初期NEMOPHILAの多面性を作る。最後に置かれた“DISSENSION (English Version)”は、単なる翻訳ではなく海外へ踏み出す意思表示として機能する。後の『REVIVE』と重なる曲を含みつつ、世界進出の入口を記録した歴史的価値のある一枚だ。

OIRAN (Extended Edition) collects the three independent singles NEMOPHILA released between 2020 and 2021 and presents them internationally through the UK label JPU Records. Although it predates the first full studio album, the band’s core is already unmistakable. Japanese imagery, the low pressure of seven-string guitars, the bounce of metalcore and nu metal, and accessible vocal melodies combine into a sound that explains the group’s “hellishly heavy, otherwise fluffy” contrast without needing visual context. It also gave the overseas audience built through pandemic-era YouTube performances a coherent collection of original material. “OIRAN” became an early signature through its sensual opening and broad chorus. “MONSTERS” and “Life” add aggression and emotional range, “RAITEI” strikes with a thunderous riff, “SORAI” opens the atmosphere, “DISSENSION” moves with rebellious urgency, and “FIGHTER” turns resilience into direct energy. The closing English version of “DISSENSION” works not merely as translation, but as a declaration of international intent. Several songs later reappeared on REVIVE, yet this collection retains historical importance as the document that first carried NEMOPHILA’s own music beyond Japan in album form.
