Mammoth II

『Mammoth II』は、2023年8月4日にBMGから出た第2作である。作り方は前作と同じで、ウルフギャング・ヴァン・ヘイレンが全曲を書き、全楽器を弾き、全部歌う。録音は5150スタジオ、プロデュースはマイケル・“エルヴィス”・バスケット。変わったのは題名の付け方だけで、ローマ数字がそのまま2作目を意味している。 全10曲。“Right?”に始まり、“Like a Pastime”“Another Celebration at the End of the World”“I'm Alright”がシングルとして先行し、いずれもメインストリーム・ロックのチャートに入った。締めは“Better Than You”。デビュー作がビルボード200の12位から3つのチャートを制したのに続き、本作はトップ・アルバム・セールスで5位以内に入り、ハード・ロック・アルバムで再び首位に立っている。クラシック・ロック誌は、あらゆる面でデビュー作を上回る2作目だと評した。

Mammoth II, released on 4 August 2023 by BMG, is the second album. The method is unchanged: Wolfgang Van Halen writes every song, plays every instrument and sings all of it. Recorded at 5150 Studios, produced by Michael "Elvis" Baskette. The only new thing is the naming — a Roman numeral standing plainly for the second record. Ten songs. It opens on "Right?", and "Like a Pastime," "Another Celebration at the End of the World" and "I'm Alright" all went out ahead of it as singles, each charting on Mainstream Rock. "Better Than You" closes. After a debut that entered the Billboard 200 at twelve and topped three charts, this one landed inside the top five of the Top Album Sales chart and put him back at number one on Hard Rock Albums. Classic Rock called it a second solo album that betters the debut in every department.
