『Garden of the Moon』は、ラナ・レーンの澄んだヴォーカルを中心に、シンフォニックな鍵盤、メロディックなギター、宇宙的な広がりを組み合わせた作品だ。曲はプログレッシヴに展開しながらも、歌メロの親しみやすさを大切にしている。物語性と幻想性を、いっそう豊かに描き出した一枚である。 “River of the Stars”“Moongarden”“Garden of the Moon”といった楽曲では、静かな場面の余韻と、盛り上がるコーラスの対比が美しい。“Destination Roswell”“Evolution Revolution”“Dream of the Dragonfly”のような楽曲にも、作品の充実した表現が息づいている。“Seasons”“Under the Olive Tree”“Eternal Waters”のような楽曲にも、作品の充実した表現が息づいている。本作でもエリク・ノーランダーによる分厚いキーボード・アレンジが幻想的な世界観を強く印象付けており、透明感のあるヴォーカルと壮大なアレンジが見事に調和した充実の一枚である。幻想性と歌心を両立したプログレッシヴ・ハードの内容だ。SFやファンタジーを思わせる題材が、作品に独特の広がりを与えている。壮麗で夢幻的な、充実した一枚である。

Garden of the Moon is a work on which, centered on Lana Lane’s clear vocals, symphonic keyboards, melodic guitar and a cosmic breadth are combined. While the songs develop progressively, they value the accessibility of the vocal melody. It is a record that drew out narrative quality and fantasy even more richly. On “River of the Stars,” “Moongarden” and “Garden of the Moon,” the contrast between the lingering of quiet scenes and the swelling choruses is beautiful. Songs like “Destination Roswell,” “Evolution Revolution” and “Dream of the Dragonfly” breathe the work’s full expression too. It is progressive-hard content balancing fantasy and melodic sense. Subjects evoking science fiction and fantasy give the work a distinctive breadth. Grand and dreamlike, it is a full record.
