『Resolution』は、LAMB OF GODが不規則に切り替わるリズム、硬く刻むリフ、荒々しいヴォーカルを使い、緊張感の高いグルーヴ・メタルを築いた作品だ。曲は激しく動くが、重心は常に低く、リフの押し出しが全体を支えている。バンドの充実したキャリアを象徴する一枚である。 “Straight for the Sun”“Ghost Walking”“The Number Six”といった楽曲では、変拍子や細かな展開があっても、楽曲は身体的なノリを失わない。“Desolation”“Invictus”“King Me”のような楽曲にも、バンドの充実した演奏が息づいている。“Guilty”“The Undertow”“Insurrection”のような楽曲にも、バンドの充実した演奏が息づいている。プロデューサーのジョシュ・ウィルバーとの再タッグにより本作はより多彩で野心的な内容となり、重厚なドゥーム調の“Straight for the Sun”で幕を開け多彩な楽曲を経て、9分を超える大作“King Me”で壮大に幕を閉じる、バンドの表現の幅広さと揺るぎない演奏力を示した充実作である。テクニカルさと暴力的な推進力を両立している。ドゥーム調の序曲から激烈な楽曲まで、バンドの幅広い表現力が示された、充実した一枚だ。

Resolution is a work on which LAMB OF GOD built high-tension groove metal using irregularly switching rhythm, hard-chugging riffs and rough vocals. The songs move fiercely, but the center of gravity is always low, and the push of the riffs supports the whole. It is a record emblematic of the band’s full career. On “Straight for the Sun,” “Ghost Walking” and “The Number Six,” even with odd meters and fine development, the songs do not lose their physical feel. Songs like “Desolation,” “Invictus” and “King Me” breathe the band’s full playing too. They balance technicality and violent drive.
