Resolution is a work on which LAMB OF GOD built high-tension groove metal using irregularly switching rhythm, hard-chugging riffs and rough vocals. The songs move fiercely, but the center of gravity is always low, and the push of the riffs supports the whole. It is a record emblematic of the band’s full career.
On “Straight for the Sun,” “Ghost Walking” and “The Number Six,” even with odd meters and fine development, the songs do not lose their physical feel. Songs like “Desolation,” “Invictus” and “King Me” breathe the band’s full playing too. They balance technicality and violent drive.
