Mick Jones frames the songs with concise, cutting guitar work, and Lou Gramm’s powerful vocal gives every chorus the reach of a large room. Keyboards add color without softening the attack; the rhythm section keeps the music tight, direct and ready to move. The production leaves enough space for each hook to land with authority. “Dirty White Boy” drives with rough, physical momentum, while the title track uses a heavy central riff and a more pressurized mood. “Love on the Telephone” and “Women” show how naturally the band could place pop-minded construction inside a harder rock setting.
