Space Police: Defenders of the Crown is a work on which EDGUY mixed grand melody, a hard-rock feel and light humor. While the guitar keeps a metal sharpness, the songs open boldly toward the chorus. Even after a long career, it is a record on which the band’s playfulness and energy have not dimmed in the least. On “Sabre & Torch,” “Space Police” and “Love Tyger,” a playfulness that is not all seriousness further strengthens the music’s elation. A playful cover of the Austrian musician Falco’s classic “Rock Me Amadeus” is also included. Songs like “Defenders of the Crown” and “The Eternal Wayfarer” breathe the band’s full playing too. Letting you enjoy power metal’s energy and stadium rock’s accessibility at once, it is a full record.
