The self-titled Def Leppard is the tenth album, re-presenting layered choruses, polished guitar sound and bouncing rhythm with a contemporary texture. It was made with the constant lineup of Joe Elliott (vocals), Phil Collen, Vivian Campbell (guitar), Rick Savage (bass) and Rick Allen (drums). While the songs have big hooks, they do not merely trace past templates, taking in slightly shadowed melody and relaxed groove too. On songs like "Let's Go" and "Dangerous," powerful riffs and big choruses unite. Including experiments like "We Belong," on which every member takes lead vocals, the richness of the band's range is shown. The album reached US number 10, achieving a Top 10 return after a long time. A fulfilling record that delivers the stability and flexibility characteristic of a band that has long continued melodic hard rock.
