『Vol. 10』は、BUCKCHERRYが持つ直球のロックンロール感覚を、余計な回り道なしに打ち出した作品だ。短く締まった楽曲、ざらついたギター、腰に来るリズム、そして一度で覚えられるフックが並んでいる。タイトルが示す通り、バンドにとって10作目のスタジオ・アルバムであり、その安定した実力を示す一枚である。 “This and That”“Good Time”“Let's Get Wild”といった楽曲では、曲はすぐに本題へ入り、勢いを失わずに駆け抜けている。ブライアン・アダムスの名曲“Summer of '69”のカヴァーも、バンドらしい解釈で収録されている。“Keep On Fighting”“Pain”のような楽曲にも、メロディを残すための工夫が息づいている。“Turn It On”“Feels Like Love”“With You”のような楽曲にも、バンドの充実した演奏が息づいている。デビューから20年以上を経てもなおバンドの直球のロックンロールへの情熱は少しも衰えておらず、ジョシュ・トッドのしゃがれた歌声は円熟の域に達しながらも衰えを知らない、近年のBUCKCHERRYの充実ぶりを示す安定感のある一枚だ。酒場、クラブ、ドライヴ、どの場面にも似合う即効性を備えた、BUCKCHERRYらしい一枚だ。

Vol. 10 is a work on which BUCKCHERRY put forth their straight rock ’n’ roll sense with no unnecessary detours. Short, tight songs, gritty guitar, a hip-moving rhythm and hooks you can remember on one listen line up. As the title indicates, it is the band’s tenth studio album, a record showing their steady ability. On “This and That,” “Good Time” and “Let's Get Wild,” the songs get straight to the point and race through without losing momentum. A cover of Bryan Adams’ classic “Summer of '69” is also included, in the band’s own interpretation. Songs like “Keep On Fighting” and “Pain” breathe efforts to keep melody too. With an immediacy that suits any scene — bar, club or drive — it is a BUCKCHERRY-style record.
