Secret Garden

『Secret Garden』は、ANGRAがプログレッシヴな構築美、ブラジル的なリズム感、クラシカルなメロディを結び付けて描いた作品だ。ギターとキーボードは複雑に絡み合うが、曲の中心には歌としての力強い旋律が置かれている。新ヴォーカリストのファビオ・リオーネを迎えた一枚である。 “Newborn Me”“Black Hearted Soul”“Secret Garden”といった楽曲では、静かな導入から大きく開くサビまで、場面転換の鮮やかさが印象に残る。“Final Light”“Violet Sky”のような楽曲にも、バンドの充実した演奏が息づいている。キコ・ルーレイロとファビオ・リオーネという実力者を軸にバンドは新たな充実期を迎えており、“Storm of Emotions”“Upper Levels”“Silent Call”のような楽曲にもバンドの充実した演奏が息づいている。シモーネ・シモンズ（エピカ）やドロ・ペッシュといったゲストも参加した、円熟の一枚である。元ラプソディーのファビオ・リオーネの歌声が、バンドに新たな表情を加えている。技術を見せるためではなく、ドラマを作るために技巧を使うANGRAの美学が表れた一枚だ。

Secret Garden is a work on which ANGRA drew by binding progressive constructive beauty, Brazilian rhythmic feel and classical melody. The guitar and keyboards intertwine complexly, but at the center of the songs a strong melody as song is placed. It is a record on which they welcomed new vocalist Fabio Lione. On “Newborn Me,” “Black Hearted Soul” and “Secret Garden,” from a quiet introduction to a chorus that opens up greatly, the vividness of the scene changes leaves an impression. Songs like “Final Light” and “Violet Sky” breathe the band’s full playing too. The voice of ex-Rhapsody Fabio Lione adds a new expression to the band. It is a record on which ANGRA’s aesthetic — using technique not to show off but to make drama — appears.
