NEMOPHILA's Five-Song EP 道唐草 and the Blu-ray ANATADARE FINAL CUT Arrive December 9, the Four-Piece's Last Work
NEMOPHILA will release a five-song EP, 道唐草, on Wednesday, December 9. The five songs include "-GOU-" (-業-), which came out as a digital single on June 19, and the EP comes as a standard edition and a first-press limited edition with a Blu-ray. The same day brings a separate Blu-ray, ANATADARE FINAL CUT, which holds the final cut of the "ANATADARE" music video premiered in August. The band's official site presents 道唐草 as the last original recording of the line-up of mayu, Hazuki, Haraguchi-san and Tamu Murata. It was announced on the night of October 12, the day NEMOPHILA staged their own event, Tenjo Mukyū Gekion Dōchū, at EX THEATER ROPPONGI in Tokyo, and the day Hazuki left the band.
Five songs including "-GOU-", in two editions
The CD holds "-GOU-" (-業-), "Preying parasites", "濁色魂", "籠目" and "リフレクション" in both editions, and the CD that comes with the Blu-ray ANATADARE FINAL CUT, out the same day, holds the same five songs. The Blu-ray in the limited edition is something else: six live songs (below). The standard edition (DDCZ-2332) costs 2,200 yen including tax; the first-press limited edition with a Blu-ray (DDCZ-9083) costs 6,050 yen. The artwork is by kokubozu, who also did the artwork for GOZO (五臓 -GOZO-), the EP NEMOPHILA released on January 21.
"-GOU-" came out as a digital single on June 19. Announcing it the day before, the official site called it the forerunner of a second EP meant to pair with GOZO, and, like GOZO, a work the four members produced themselves: all four share the music credit, mayu wrote the lyric, and the arrangement and production are credited to NEMOPHILA. In a comment published by Young Guitar on the day of release, mayu said the song, its lyric and its world were built around the theme of 地獄道, the realm of hell.
Two Blu-rays: live footage from HINOE in the limited edition, and ANATADARE FINAL CUT
The limited edition's Blu-ray carries six songs filmed on the second night of NEMOPHILA's two-day show HINOE at BLAZE GOTANDA in Tokyo on June 27 and 28: "REVIVE", "Kaika Sengen", "-GOU-", "BRAINWASH", "Just Do It!" and "Hozuki". GOZO's limited edition in January did the same with footage from the band's first event of its own, held at Kawasaki CLUB CITTA' on September 21, 2025.
The same day brings a Blu-ray, ANATADARE FINAL CUT, which comes as a Blu-ray and CD set. The Blu-ray has three chapters: the final cut of the "ANATADARE" music video, the version published on YouTube, and a making-of whose title calls the shoot two days in hell; the CD that comes with it holds the EP's same five songs. Tower Records' listing, drawn from the label's own material, gives its catalogue number as DDXZ-1009 and its price as 6,050 yen including tax. The official site describes the package as the four-piece's last and biggest present, a record in sound and image of what it calls "the last four".
"ANATADARE": a horror film of a music video, nine and a half minutes long
"ANATADARE" is a song from the band's fourth album, Apple of my eye, released on January 22, 2025. Its music video went up on NEMOPHILA's official YouTube channel at 21:00 on August 28 and runs 9 minutes 34 seconds; the official site describes it as a cinematic epic built on homages to 1980s slasher films.
According to the video's description, the four members play themselves, trapped in a sinister live venue and hunted by a masked serial killer, with the chase cut against the band's performance. The end credits roll over footage from the shoot, set to "Good as hell quartet", another song from Apple of my eye. By October 13 the video had passed 610,000 views.
From the August announcement to the current line-up's last show
On August 7 NEMOPHILA announced that drummer Tamu Murata and guitarist Hazuki were leaving. Tamu Murata left at the end of July and stayed on as a support member for the shows up to October 12, while Hazuki's departure took effect on October 12. Tamu Murata explained that she had decided to leave with the American tour as a natural break; Hazuki, that a gap had opened, and could not be closed, between the music she wanted to pursue in NEMOPHILA and her values about the band's work.
That tour played eleven North American shows, from Chicago on June 30 to Los Angeles on July 14, the band's first time in the United States since 2023. The last three shows announced with Tamu Murata as support were SOUND PLANET FESTIVAL 2026 in Incheon, South Korea, on September 6, MAD PIT FES 2026 at Kawasaki CLUB CITTA' on October 9, and Tenjo Mukyū Gekion Dōchū on October 12.
Tenjo Mukyū Gekion Dōchū was NEMOPHILA's first all-female bill, planned as the heavenly counterpart of the hell-themed event they staged in 2025, with East Of Eden, NEK! and TRiDENT. The day before it, the band's YouTube channel billed it as the current line-up's last show, and Hazuki wrote in her Young Guitar column that it would be her last stage as NEMOPHILA's guitarist.
The four-piece itself began in March 2024, when founding guitarist SAKI left. Of the four, mayu and Haraguchi-san remain in NEMOPHILA, and the August announcement said the band would keep going, putting more weight on its work overseas. Hazuki is also a guitarist in KOIAI.
