Liner Notes
Belly to Belly is a work on which WARRANT distanced themselves from 1980s gorgeousness, leaning toward low guitar, dull tones and heavy rhythm. While Jani Lane’s melodic sense remains, the expression of the songs has a deeper shadow. It is a record on which they tried to take in the air of the times in their own way.
On “In The End,” “Feels Good” and “Falling Down,” the change is large, but the traces of the band seeking a new direction clearly remain. Songs like “Solid” and “Vertigo” breathe the band’s full playing too. It is content with depth that cannot be told by the ready-made glam-metal image alone. It is an ambitious record that reflects the WARRANT of the mid-1990s.
