LINER NOTES
LANGUAGE
The Outer Limits came out in 1993 on Mechanic and MCA Records. The Japanese edition is dated 21 July as MVCM-391 and the American one 3 August; no release day is published for the album itself.
It is the last record with Snake until he returned in 2002, and the first made without Blacky, who had left before Angel Rat was released. Rather than bring in an immediate replacement the band used a session player, Pierre St-Jean, on bass.
Mark S. Berry produced, engineered and mixed it at the Record Plant in Hollywood, and Howie Weinberg mastered it at Masterdisk in New York.
The fourth song is Pink Floyd's "The Nile Song". The seventh, "Jack Luminous", runs to seventeen minutes and twenty-six seconds and is the longest thing the band have recorded. The first CD pressing came with a miniature pair of 3D glasses for looking at the booklet artwork. "Number 8" printed in the top right of the sleeve means that counting the compilation The Best of Voivod this is their eighth release. Several Spotify entities exist for this album and none of them plays in this territory, so this page shows the sleeve instead of a player.
