Stay Hungry

Stay Hungry is the third album and the band’s greatest success, the one that lifted Twisted Sister to worldwide fame. Produced by Tom Werman, it sold more than three million copies in the US and became the band’s only platinum album. Dee Snider’s huge character, choruses anyone can sing and simple, thick riffs combine to turn out one defiant anthem after another. Snider wrote every song. “We're Not Gonna Take It” and “I Wanna Rock” became massive hits alongside their comedic MTV videos and came to symbolize the 1980s; the former is also known for being targeted by Tipper Gore’s PMRC. From the power ballad “The Price” and “Burn in Hell,” which appeared in the film Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, to the two-part suite “Horror-Teria (The Beginning)” and the fan tribute “S.M.F.,” spectacle and real craft live side by side.
