Crown In The Grave, dated 20 November 2026 on Roadrunner Records, is TRIVIUM's eleventh studio album and their first since In the Court of the Dragon in 2021. It is also the first full-length with Alex Rüdinger, formerly of Whitechapel, who replaced Alex Bent at the drums in 2025 and plays here beside Matt Heafy, Corey Beaulieu and Paolo Gregoletto. Gregoletto brought Akira Kurosawa's Throne of Blood, Macbeth moved to feudal Japan, to the band, and the title track grew out of it. From there they went deep into Japanese horror and cinema of the 1950s to the 1970s, and that interest steered the music, the words and the artwork; Heafy took on the art direction himself, and the sleeve sets the title in Japanese beside a torii and a mitsudomoe crest. "Dead Inside Of Me", heard first on 16 September 2026, is loosely built on honne and tatemae, the Japanese distinction between what one feels and what one shows; the title track followed on 8 October with a Noh-inspired, post-apocalyptic video set in a dojo, and Pavel Trebukhin directed both. Josh Wilbur, their producer of many years, returned, and Jacob Hansen mixed a TRIVIUM album for the first time. The band recorded it at The Hangar, their own studio and clubhouse in Orlando, the first record they have made there. Warner Music Japan's edition (WPCR-18878) has Japanese liner notes, lyrics and translations and no bonus track. Twelve songs.
