Reborn

Reborn came out on 16 August 2005 through Big3 Records — the band's first full studio album of new material since Against the Law in 1990, a gap of fifteen years. Michael Sweet and Kenny Lewis produced. The order of events was not the obvious one. Sweet wrote and recorded the songs himself in April 2004 and only then proposed to the others that they re-cut the material as a Stryper record. The ground had been laid by a reunion: in autumn 2003 the band played its first nationwide tour in more than twelve years, marking the quartet's twentieth anniversary. Recording was done in Massachusetts, at Blue Jay Studio, Mixed Emotions and Sweet's own home studio. The multi-album deal with Big3 was announced on 30 March 2005, and the same announcement introduced Tracy Ferrie as the band's newest member.
