Liner Notes

Of Love and Lunacy is the debut album, released on 3 May 2005 by Roadrunner. The band came out of Grand Rapids, Michigan, formed from the remains of two local groups, Shades of Amber and Unition. They were already playing these songs in the autumn of 2001, and those songs became the EP Dying with a Smile in October 2003, followed a year later by If Love Was Born to Die. One detail is worth noting: Benchmark Records funded both EPs, yet the band was never on that label's roster. They built a name at local rooms like Skelletones, and from there reached Roadrunner. The line-up is T.J. Miller on vocals, Jordan Whelan on guitar, Mike Church on guitar and backing vocals, Evan Willey on bass, Zach Roth on keyboards and A.J. Barrette on drums. The permanent keyboard chair is what separates this band from the metalcore around it — the colour of the sound is simply different. "The Worst Is Yet to Come" was the lead single, and "White Walls" is the other song people know. They went to Britain for the first time behind it, on Roadrunner's Roadrage tour alongside Trivium and 3 Inches of Blood, and later joined the Kerrang XXV tour with Bullet for My Valentine, Aiden and Hawthorne Heights.
