Liner Notes

Ceasing to Breathe, released on 17 December 2013, is the comeback record — five years after the break-up and six years after the last album. The return has a specific night behind it. In March 2011 they were invited to Indianapolis to play Haste the Day’s farewell show, and went on stage meaning it to be a one-off. Two months later they announced that the reunion was permanent. At somebody else’s ending, they had worked out that they were not finished. The way it was made changed too. Roadrunner was gone. In March 2013 they ran a Kickstarter campaign and recorded the album independently with what came in. Metalcore was past its commercial peak, the band had already broken up once, and they chose to make a record anyway — this is the result. They have kept going in bursts since: on 31 October 2025 they released the single “The Wound and the Weapon” with Guy Kozowyk of The Red Chord, played Furnace Fest that year, and toured Britain for the twentieth anniversary of Of Love and Lunacy.
