Liner Notes

Revolutions per Minute is the fifth album, on which SKID ROW sounded a more punk/hardcore-leaning heavy rock using thick guitar, rough rhythm and urgent vocals. It was made with the lineup of Johnny Solinger (vocals), Dave "Snake" Sabo and Scotti Hill (guitar), Rachel Bolan (bass) and Dave Gara (drums). A stance of emphasizing riff hardness and the short impact of the songs over glamorous melody is clear. The charging drive of "Disease" and the weight of "Strength" mirror a band bringing its aggressive side to the front. Fast songs and mid-tempo intersect, and the album has an energy that always carries irritation. Taking in experimental choices and wide-ranging styles, the band showed an attitude that would not fit a mold. Opinion was divided, but it is a record that condensed the rough appeal of SKID ROW in the Solinger period.
