Quadra

Quadra came out on 7 February 2020 on Nuclear Blast, on BMG in Brazil, with Chaos Reigns issuing a three-disc Japanese edition the same day as GQCS-90854 to 90856. It was recorded between August and October 2019 at Fascination Street Studios in Örebro, Sweden, and produced by Jens Bogren, who had also made the previous album. The title comes from the quadrivium, the medieval grouping of arithmetic, geometry, music and astronomy, and the number four is the frame of the whole record. Its twelve songs fall into four sections that run from thrash, through pieces led by percussion, through progressive writing, to slow melodic songs. The Brazilian singer Emmily Barreto joins the last of them, "Fear, Pain, Chaos, Suffering". Derrick Green sings, Andreas Kisser plays guitar, Paulo Jr. plays bass and Eloy Casagrande plays drums. Three songs went out ahead of it: "Isolation" on 8 November 2019, "Last Time" on 20 December and "Means to an End" on the day of release. It charted in seventeen countries and reached the top twenty in seven of them, including number five in Germany and on the British rock and metal chart and thirteen in Switzerland. Spotify carries several entities of this album and not one of them will play in this territory, so this page shows the sleeve instead of a player.
