The Funeral Album
The Funeral Album builds deep shade from sunken riffs, heavy groove and Ville Laihiala’s low vocal presence.

Liner Notes
The Funeral Album is Sentenced's final chapter, on which they densely depicted the emotion of farewell by layering cold guitars and deep sorrow. As its name suggests, it was made as the band's own "funeral," their eighth and last album. Facing the end instead produced a work full of confidence, variety and barely restrained ferocity.
From the lively opener "May Today Become the Day" to "Ever-Frost," which spent six consecutive weeks at No. 1 in Finland, and the closer "End of the Road," dynamic songs line up. Production was by Hiili Hiilesmaa, and mastering by Mika Jussila of Finnvox. On the short instrumental "Where Waters Fall Frozen," they glimpse a return to their death-metal beginnings. The album reached No. 1 in Finland and was certified gold. In October 2005, with a final concert in their hometown of Oulu, the band quietly came to a close. At that final show, former vocalist Taneli Jarva appeared to sing early songs. Tenkula's death in 2009 forever ended any hope of reunion.
