LANGUAGE
From the First Sting is a two-CD compilation issued by BMG on 26 September 2025 (catalogue number 964161070, JAN 4099964161076) holding thirty-one tracks. It was assembled for the Scorpions' sixtieth year and runs chronologically from 1972 to 2022. There is no Japanese pressing.
What marks it out is that every track carries its year. The first disc opens on 'In Search of the Peace of Mind' from the 1972 debut Lonesome Crow, passes through the Uli Jon Roth years with 'In Trance' and 'The Sails of Charon', reaches 'Lady Starlight' and 'The Zoo' after Matthias Jabs joined, and closes on three songs from 1984's Love at First Sting.
The second disc begins with a live 'Rock You Like a Hurricane' from 1985 and moves into the 1990s by way of 'Wind of Change', 'Send Me an Angel' and 'Under the Same Sun'. 'Wind of Change' appears twice, in its 1990 and 2000 forms. The run home takes in 'Maybe I Maybe You', 'Humanity', 'The Best Is Yet to Come' and 'House of Cards' before the title track of 2022's Rock Believer ends the set. Live material is placed throughout, including 'This Is My Song', recorded for television in November 1973.
