LINER NOTES
LANGUAGE
The seventh album was released by Parlophone/EMI in September 1985. It is the first they made after leaving Carrere, and the last with Steve Dawson, the bassist who had been there from the start. It was recorded at Union Studios in Munich in 1985 and produced by Simon Hanhart. It reached fifteen in Finland, eighteen in Sweden, thirty-three in Germany, thirty-six in Britain and 133 on the US Billboard 200. "Everybody Up" was used in the 1985 Italian horror film Demoni. AllMusic's Eduardo Rivadavia gave the album four stars out of five and called it their strongest collective set of songs since Denim and Leather in 1981. Jon Hotten, writing in Classic Rock, took the other view: the glossy production, he said, sat awkwardly against the band's belt-and-braces take on heavy metal. The running order given here is the original pressing's.
