LINER NOTES
LANGUAGE
The sixth album came out on 30 January 1984 and reached eighteen in Britain, fifteen in Sweden, sixteen in the Netherlands, twenty in Germany, twenty-six in Switzerland and 174 on the US Billboard 200. It was recorded in 1983 at Sound City Studios in Van Nuys, California, and produced by Kevin Beamish. The line-up is Byford, Oliver, Quinn, Dawson and Glockler. Byford has said the title came not from the crusades but from the masthead of the Daily Express and a model of Ford Cortina. "Set Me Free" is a Sweet song, written by Andy Scott. AllMusic reads the record as a move away from the new wave of British heavy metal toward a kinder, gentler metal. The running order given here is the original pressing's.
