Life's a Bitch

The third and last Raven album for Atlantic, and the last with founding drummer Rob "Wacko" Hunter, running twelve tracks from "The Savage And The Hungry" to "Playing With The Razor". Gallagher's own reading of the Atlantic years is narrower than the received one. Speaking to Songfacts he rates this among the band's better albums and calls the Mad EP that preceded it a definite return to form; by his account the only genuinely commercial Raven record was The Pack Is Back. One sour memory attaches to the sequencing. Gallagher told KMUW that somebody swapped the opening tracks of the two sides against the band's intention, and cites it as the reason Raven have taken running orders seriously ever since.
