Rammstein

The band's untitled seventh album, shown as Rammstein on digital platforms and on CD-Text devices, was released by Universal Music on 17 May 2019. It was their first studio record in ten years and the first not produced by Jacob Hellner; Olsen Involtini, guitarist in Emigrate and Rammstein's live sound engineer, produced it instead. The sound is their usual Neue Deutsche Harte and industrial metal, but the subjects are put more directly. "Zeig dich" attacks the Catholic church, demanding over heavy thumping guitar that religious leaders stop hiding behind their so-called Lord; the same song carries a Latin choir and Spanish-style finger picking, and Louder thought it recalled "Zwitter" from Mutter. "Sex" treats sex as something disgusting and yet life-giving. Commercially it was very large. It reached number one in more than ten countries, set the record for the most units of an album sold in a first week in Germany in the twenty-first century, and was the best-selling album of 2019 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The BVMI certified it diamond for over 750,000 copies sold in Germany. Three singles were taken from it -- "Deutschland", "Radio" and "Auslander" -- with "Deutschland" becoming their second German number one and the other two reaching the top five.
