Zeit

Zeit, German for time, is the eighth studio album by Rammstein, released on 29 April 2022 through Universal Music. The band produced it with Olsen Involtini. It was not a planned record. After the untitled seventh album of May 2019 the band were out on their Stadium Tour, and Richard Kruspe had expected three or four years of touring behind it. Two European legs and one North American leg were booked; the first European leg finished in August 2019, and the second, due to open in May 2020, was pushed to 2021 by the pandemic and then to 2022. During Germany's first lockdown the band started writing to fill the gap the postponement had left. Keyboard player Christian "Flake" Lorenz said the sessions were spontaneous. By September 2020 they were back at La Fabrique Studios in Saint-Remy-de-Provence in southern France, where the previous album had been made, and recording ran from late 2020 into early 2021. The title track went out as the lead single on 10 March 2022. The order here is the eleven tracks of the European CD, Vertigo Berlin 0602445084999; the double LP splits the same eleven songs six and five.
