The Destiny Stone is the second Pride of Lions album, delivered barely a year after the first. King Records' Nexus imprint put the Japanese edition out first, on 27 October 2004 as KICP-1030, with the Frontiers import FR CD 216 following on 8 November.
Jim Peterik wrote all twelve songs, words and music. He has since looked back on the record as an experiment towards more progressive and epic rock, and the run of long pieces bears him out: "Back to Camelot", "Light from a Distant Shore", "The Destiny Stone", "Falling Back to Then" and "The Gift of Song" all pass six minutes. His own official biography says the album did better still than the debut.
The Japanese edition, KICP-1030, adds "Reckless Love" for thirteen tracks and one hour ten minutes fourteen seconds. No official music video exists for this album either; at this point in their run Pride of Lions were building their reputation on the records rather than on film.
