LANGUAGE
To the Power of Ten is the fifth Praying Mantis studio album, released by Pony Canyon on 19 August 1995 as PCCY-00794.
Eleven songs, about fifty-six minutes. The third, "Ball of Confusion", is a cover of the Temptations' 1970 single — Motown's most pointed social record, replayed in this band's hands. The ninth, "Only the Children Cry", had already been out in Japan as the title song of a four-track EP in 1993.
That November the band played Tokyo, and the night became the following year's double live album, Captured Alive in Tokyo City. Seven of its twenty songs come from this record, which is a fair measure of where the album stood for the band at the time.
