Nowhere to Hide

Nowhere to Hide is the seventh Praying Mantis studio album. Pony Canyon released the Japanese edition first, on 21 June 2000 as PCCY-01462, and the international edition followed five months later on 21 November. The two do not carry the same number of songs. The Japanese CD runs to nine; the international one puts "Naked" between "River of Hope" and "S.O.S." for ten. Japan getting the record first AND getting one song fewer is an inversion of the usual arrangement for this band. The listing on this page, and the player beside it, are both the ten-track international edition. Ten songs, about an hour. Tony O'Hora was still the singer, as he had been on Forever in Time in 1998. "Cruel Winter", "The Clocktower", "Future of the World" — the titles tell you how inward and heavy a record it is. The missing "Naked" came back three years later, re-recorded for The Journey Goes On in 2003, and reached Japanese listeners then.
